Psychological Testing & Assessment in Mansfield and Arlington
Counselors use psychological tests and other assessment tools for a wide variety of reasons. The counseling profession began in the late 1890s and early 1900s. The first professional counselors were vocational guidance counselors who specialized in administering various tests, including intelligence and aptitude tests. At Mansfield Counseling, we continue to use and interpret such tests up to the present day.
We provide extensive assessments for individuals ages 8+. These comprehensive evaluations often meet the documentation guidelines for most schools, major universities, employers, social security administration, or places that you would request accommodations.
These tools allow clinicians to measure and understand a client’s behavior to arrive at a diagnosis and treatment plan. The causation of a person’s problems isn’t always straightforward. Assessments allow a counselor to understand the nature of the problem and figure out the best way to address it.
Once completed, a report is provided. This report includes information from all testing tools, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations. Everyone is encouraged to attend a feedback session for a personal review of the report and discuss potential referrals and resources for their post-assessment care.
